I first met Norvell in the early 1970's when he was giving a lecture in Los Angeles. I went to his lecture with my friend Monk. We enjoyed finding unusual things to explore. I had seen a advertisement on Norvell and his speaking about using psychic powers. This evening his lecture was on the magic circle. The lecture was given in a large church and I believe that there was a five dollars admission charge. Norvell had a full house in attendance and we all got our money's worth. He spoke for at least two hours with one break for the audience, he didn't seem to need a break. Norvell was a dynamic speaker and kept the crowds attention for the full time he was speaking.
After his speech he went to the main exit and personally spoke to each person as they were leaving and thanked them for being there. At that time he would sign each book that was purchased with a personal message to that person. A great man demonstrating his personal greatness.
Norvell was the first person that I had ever seen that projected such a strong aura of charisma and power, he had a strong magnetic personality with a vital energy that radiated around him. He walked with a stride that exuded confidence and power. When he spoke the words seemed to be truths that I understood. I was very impressed and made a point to speak with him that day.
I later learned that Norvell was working on his next book called Money Magnetism that was to be published by Parker Publishing Company in 1975. If you are wanting a guide to creating a successful financial life then I suggest that you find a copy of this book, it still has a message that can be adapted to be current and useful.
Norvell had a home in Beverly Hills with many interesting friends. He was the author of a number of books on various subjects including, astrology, psychic powers and living a successful life. He lived the life that he spoke about and taught others about having. I feel blessed to have known him and learned from him.
Norvell started lecturing and teaching in the early 1940's at the world famous Carnegie Hall in New York City, where a bronze plaque honored him with the title of The Twentieth-Century Philosopher. He presented the results from his studies of ancient secrets from India, China, Tibet and the Philosophers of the Golden Age of Greece.
Norvell investigated ESP and psychic phenomena for many years, and traveled to India, Egypt, Tibet, Greece accumulating knowledge for his various books and lectures. He would have packed audiences at each of his appearances at Carnegie Hall. He would also speak to packed audiences in Los Angeles.
Anthony Norvell's early life.
Anthony Norvell was born in Holley, New York, in 1908. He was orphaned when he was five years old. He was placed in an orphanage until he was adopted by a family and then lived with them on a farm. There are reports that Norvel demonstrated his psychic abilities since the age of 10 and he predicted hundreds of events which later came true.
Norvell started his studies at Columbia University and then did further studies at the University of California. His main interests were literature, psychology,and philosophy and the mysteries of the Far East.
Norvell met Mary Pickford at the age of twenty-two and was an advisor to her during her break-up with Douglas Fairbanks, Sr.. Mary Pickford introduced him to many others in the entertainment business. Norvell soon gained the reputation among the stars as a trusted advisor on personal problems. Many personalities in movies, business, and politics sought him out for advise on business and personal matters including love. Anthony Norvell helped many in Hollywood rise from obscurity to stardom by teaching them the secrets that he revealed in his books.
During his career Norvell was widely-known and respected as one of the world's leading experts on metaphysics and the occult.
Norvell was a renown Astrologer in the 1940's You can see this demonstrated on the bottom of a Hollywood Magazine of February 1942. Note the cost of the magazine it was five cents. Hedy Lamarr is on the cover with a large banner across the bottom of the cover, this banner said Star Horoscopes for 1942 by Norvell, it was in all caps across the bottom of the cover. So it seems that Norvell was a well known Astrologer in 1942.
