Lox and eggs, o' yes this is my dream breakfast along with a cup of their great coffee. I want to enjoy the whole atmosphere of Nate 'N Al one more time. In fact I wish I were a regular as some of the old time comics have been. I used to be a weekend regular here.
Los Angeles, CA
Cantors Deli
Located on Fairfax Boulevard near Beverly.
I am looking forward to having a swiss cheese on rye with mayo. They really pile it high and I have never tasted rye bread like this. In this same area is the Farmers Market, Pinks Hot Dogs and on the same block was a small walk up Mediterranean Falafel stand that makes a great meal. This area was packed with many of my favorite places when I lived nearby.
Erewhon Natural Foods Store
Near one of the places that I lived and I've heard that it's a huge store with many different natural foods. Love natural foods and the healthy lifestyle.
Santa Monica, CA and New York City
City Bakery
I've never been to a City Bakery but I understand that the Pretzel Croissant is wonderful and to be sure to have it with a cup of Hot Chocolate. Yes, I really want to try this.

Sit and enjoy a cup of coffee. Enjoy life... Actor, Clu Gullager used to spend time here and at the Farmers Market on Beverly Blvd. Clu loved watching people.
Hollywood, Ca
Amoeba Music
I just want to flip through the albums and maybe even see J. J. Abrams there watching me flip through the albums.
Taft Building - Hollywood and Vine
I want to visit where I opened my first talent agency office which was on the fourth floor of the Taft Building. I may want to go inside and see who's there now living their own dream. It had the world's smallest waiting room, about four and a half feet wide and the length of the office. Ha, what a great time I had. I must have been crazy - a small town kid becomes a talent agent in Hollywood. It worked out well and I actually moved into a much larger office within a year. And what am I now you ask, just a simple mystic with even simpler needs.
Van Nuys Boulevard - Van Nuys, CA
Cruise Nite - Second Wednesday of each month.
Reid Stolz, driving his 1972 Corvette, organized the revival of the Van Nuys Boulevard Cruise Night, which is held on the second Wednesday of each month. I haven't been to a cruise night here but I would like to see all of the classics cars here.
The Redwood Forest in California
The Redwood Forest in northern California along the coast is where I spent most of a month during the summer of 1973. This was the first time that I was there and I didn't want to leave. I rode up there on my motorcycle, along Hwy. 1 one of my favorite drives. While there I spent a quite a bit of time living in the wild away from people. I would come in to a small gas station, cafe and quick shop when I needed more supplies which mostly consisted of peanut butter and wheat bread. I stayed away from people most of the time. At first it felt lonely and then it became comfortable.
I was having a great time being by myself. I was spending my time thinking about life. This was truly an experience that allowed me to clear out many of my negative thoughts and get on with living a positive productive life.
Spending another month in the redwood forest would further my quest. There is much to be learned by spending time in nature alone.
Highway 1
I've traveled all of Hwy. 1 multiple times. In fact I think that I may have forgotten a trip or two along this famous highway. I traveled Highway 1 by motorcycle and bedroll, in my 1964 Austin Healey Sprite convertible, in my 1962 Chevrolet convertible and a few more memorable times. I have my best memories of traveling from the trips that I've taken along this road. I never had a day planned or a set place to stay. My Hwy. 1 trips were all improv. Some places like the Redwood at Big Sur I stayed there for weeks at a time. In fact I lost track of time while staying there. What a joy.
Good Description of Traveling Hwy. 1 and places to see
Santa Cruz
It is 75 miles south of San Francisco. One grand old place to see is the Santa Cruz Boardwalk built in 1907 one of the last old style amusement attractions along the ocean. It has been operated by the Canfield family since 1952. Admission is free, an all day wrist band is about $30.00. It's a great place to people watch.
San Francisco
Fairmont Hotel
I guess that I would like to see the Fairmont Hotel just to see how posh it really is. At $15,000 for a night in the penthouse I don't think it's on my list to spend a night here.
Fisherman's Wharf
Just another tourist spot, so I will play tourist here.
Pier 39
Of course, Pier 39 has been home to the huge population of Sea Lions until November 28, 2009. On October 23 volunteers counted over 1,700 on the docks a Fisherman's Dwarf on November 21st there were 927, then on November 28th there were only 20 Sea Lions there. The big question is what caused them to move? They first arrived in 1990.
ARIZONA
I've traveled Route 66, Interstate 10 and Interstate 40 through Arizona. One of the things that are the most spectacular for me is when I go through the Saguaro National Forest near Tucson. These cactus and the wild life in the Saguaro Natural Forest are most amazing to look at and it's amazing to walk through. I want to spend a night, a week, or more in the Saguaro National Forest. This is something that I've never done because I was only traveling through before.

TEXAS
Austin
Annual Willie Nelson 4th of July Picnic
Willie started it in 1973 and it's gotten bigger over the years, attracting rock bands, folk singers, rappers, and country stars who perform to as many as 20,000 music lovers.
Houston
Joel Osteen and the Lakewood Church
I would like to experience and see Joel Osteen preach at the Lakewood Church on a Sunday morning. I want to be in one of the front and center rows. I guess that this means that I will have to get there quite early. I enjoy his message on Sunday mornings.
I've recently seen him being interviewed along with his wife promoting their new book they seem to be very shallow people. Oh well, I still want to see him preach.
I enjoy seeing great preachers at work. I saw Oral Roberts do healing's in a tent Revival in 1963 or 1964. What an experience the crippled did walk and healing's did take place. I had such a good time I went a few nights to experience this. I wanted to go up on stage and experience being healed, but I wasn't sick. I was shy though, I didn't think that qualified for a healing so I didn't go up.
Elberton, Georgia
Georgia Guidestones
Commissioned by a mystery man, R. C. Christian in June 1979, who's identity is a mystery to this day. Five massive slabs of polished pyramid blue granite are arranged in a star pattern when seen from the sky. The slabs are 16 feet tall with the four supporting slabs weight at more than 20 tons each. They support a 25,000 pound capstone. It includes a series of notches and holes that correspond to the movements of the sun and stars. The slabs include 'instructions' in eight languages in how to rebuild society after an apocalypse.
I really have no desire to see anything other that this in Georgia so this is way down on my list of things to do. I do enjoy a good mystery.

San Antonio, NM
One claim to fame that San Antonio, NM has is it is the location of Conrad Hiltons first Hotel. It is now just a small town with little to say about it. I drove around town in the fall of 2008 to try to find Conrad Hilton's first Hotel and there was not a sign or anything to indicate this historic event. I found that sad.
What I was in the area for was the fall arrival of the Sandhill Cranes in the nearby marshes. Now this was a spectacular event that I do recommend to everyone. Be sure to bring a camera as you will get shots of the cranes and other birds that will be truly memorable. There was a hawk on a post in the middle of the marsh that was great. My camera needs a serious upgrade to get the shots that were available.
At that time I didn't know about the Buckhorn Tavern's fame or I would have stopped in there for one of it's green chile cheeseburgers. In July of 2009 The Buckhorn Tavern won the Food Network 'Throwdown With Bobby Flay' challenge. I guess I will have to return for the cranes and make a point of having a burger here.
